"Employment contracts from an employee’s perspective – What should employees consider when reviewing and negotiating an employment contract?"

Advisers and Planners can learn how to help clients with issues arising at the beginning of the employment relationship, including a  review of offer letters and employment agreements.  Understand important provisions of employment agreements and offer letters, and identify potential issues from the employees perspective.  Do employees have bargaining power to negotiate employment agreements?  In particular, restrictive covenants, whether they are enforceable, and the risks of breaching such provisions.

Patty Collins has 21 years experience as a licensed attorney.  Her experience includes a mix of litigation and counseling in employment law and complex commercial litigation.  Patty counsels clients in litigation regarding non-competes and restrictive covenants, nondisclosure and non-solicitation agreements.  Patty also advises small to medium-sized business clients and nonprofit entities on employment compliance issues. She represents employers and employees in litigation under federal and state discrimination and wrongful termination laws relating to restrictive covenants, unfair competition and unlawful use of trade secrets, and compliance with state and federal regulations.  Patty also assists employers and employees in preparing employment agreements, policies and handbooks.

There is no charge to attend this event but pre-registration is required.
