Join us in Doylestown on September 20th for a Study Group breakfast.
"Cohabitation, Pre-nuptial and Post-nuptial Agreements"
With more couples choosing to live together unmarried, and divorce rates continuing to rise, it is increasingly important to help your clients understand how to proactively protect their rights and assets. You will learn the difference between each agreement, what information to consider when planning, state laws and their impact on the structure of each document and what could happen should your client end up in court.
Our guest speaker will be Charissa J. Liller, Chairperson of Curtin & Heefner's Family Law Section. She focuses her practice on all aspects of family law, from drafting and negotiating Pre-nuptial Agreements through negotiating and trying all phases of divorce, custody and support matters. Ms. Liller has extensive courtroom experience litigating complex property division issues, custody disputes, support and alimony issues. She has represented a broad cross-section of the community, including stay at home parents to business owners, from labor union members to high net-worth individuals, in all aspects of their Family Law issues, either inside the courtroom or working to negotiate settlements.
Prior to the legalization of marriage for all in our Commonwealth, Ms. Liller also represented (and continues to represent) members of the LGBT community in all aspects of the dissolution of their domestic partnership.
As part of her practice, Ms. Liller also has appellate experience and has made law in Pennsylvania with favorable decisions in both family and criminal law matters.
There will be no CE offered for this program. Space is limited to 25 attendees.
There is no cost to attend this breakfast, but pre-registration is required.
